Proposed Graffiti laws
Published 1 year, 8 months ago in Making News.I fear that the State Government’s proposed graffiti laws will result in more young people getting in trouble with the law - even if they are innocent - because they will become aggravated by police hassling them on trains, laneaways and other public places the government considers “graffiti hotspots'’.
Police should be looking for peope armed with knives and guns not spray cans and markers.

If the police were not charged with the duty of protecting property then yes, they could ignore graffiti and concentrate on other things. Perhaps Sharia law is the answer ? You would never see two-time offenders continuing this selfish anti-social behaviour. No hands, no cans.
Oh yeah, Graffiti is like speeding… it’s illegal, but people keep doing it. Oh, and yeah tagging is not art, it marks territory.
Is the world going insane! Society is to soft on these fools. they should be sentenced to a six month stint of cleaning up their mess! And at the end be made to pay for materials used to clean it off. I used to paint cars for a living and paint isnt easy to remove. And the police should hassle anyone who is hanging around these places for no good reason. Ever heard of loitering !
